Wachsmuth & Krogmann started out as a traditional trading company dealing with spices and other popular commodities of that century. |
In 1831 W&K expanded the business and founded a shipping line to support their trade with regions such as South & North America and Asia.
Between 1850-1880 new markets were explored and developed in Russia.
In 1899 Wachsmuth & Krogmann began investing in food production facilities in India.
World War I throughout the time of World Recession and Inflation in 1923 marked a period of difficulties and loss of investments in Europe and Russia for the company. |

During the second World War Wachsmuth & Krogmann managed to keep their shipping lines active. However in 1945, at the end of the WW II, W&K's shipping line area came to an end. Almost all vessels were lost during these times. The management decided to put their focus back onto it's core activities which were trading in dried fruits, nuts and canned food.
In 1968 the product line was expanded to frozen foods. In 1980 the non-food department (Kitchen & Home Appliances as well as Hardware) was established with strong focus on Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. |
Due to intensive activities in the Hardware & Appliance Sector W&K founded an office in Hong Kong in 1988 to increase its efficiency in, Sourcing, Development and Distribution.
This office meant an important stepping stone for the organization as Hong Kong is the strategic Asia hub for all essential production sites. |
Further expansion demanded W&K to move into larger office facilities. |
Since 1992 the W&K head quarter is operating from the renown commercial buildings of the "Zurich Haus" in Hamburg/ Domstrasse 17 |
Chicago was chosen as the commercial and logistical hub for the US American market.
